OK Nog here's turn 1 for you: as the Japanese go first in each turn I shall be using the forces of Glorious Nippon :)

Is this any good? If it is I'll get it tonight. Is it 2 player only?

Two player only I think.

Gerrout of our turn thread!

Its an excellent game in my opinion, crap graphics, lots of depth but not too much so that you lose the will to live.

Hmm. Given I loved Panzer General and all other XYZ General games - I would like this too?

ButcherOfNog

Turn one for the mighty US Pacific Fleet, when you complete your turn you'll have 2 files to attach, see page 23 of manual.

Yup Max, if you liked those you'd like this one, I stuck a link to matrixgames in the sticked post, have a look at it.

Here's turn 2 Nog, I didn't see a second file generated? I've attached the combat save too, I assume that's the replay.

ButcherOfNog

Wrong turn posted Conor I think, combat save was ok, the turn file was the last one (I think)

TwoShedsJackson
09-29-2007, 02:26 PM
Sorry, this should be it, going by the timestamp on the save anyway :)

ButcherOfNog
09-29-2007, 02:42 PM
Nope, uv018_Jap_Turn_4__05_04_42.uvs is the last turn i sent you :)

TwoShedsJackson
09-29-2007, 04:56 PM
Did you try the file cos I might have forgot to change the name when saving, it was last altered at 11:43 today which is when I did the turn, I definitely saved after my turn and everything else is from last night or before.

ButcherOfNog
09-29-2007, 09:06 PM
yup, just rechecked last 3 turns, the last one asks for player one password, so thats your turn file, rechecked previous two allied named save files and they're the same turn as all my fleets are in same positions. I think the Japs are so worried they forgot to save :)

TwoShedsJackson
09-30-2007, 12:05 PM
OK here it is again, I hope :)

The game loading screen seems to act a bit wierd when theres multiple save files starting with same slot but with different names, so if you have problems, delete all the slot uv20 files and download this again. I spend a fair few mins wondering why that last turn wouldn't show up :)

Next time round Conor can you include combat save rather than text, I have a feeling that there may be some action.

You might be right about that :)

That first strike of carrier planes of mine deserved to be eaten by sharks, couldn't hit the side of a barn door, grrrr.

TwoShedsJackson
10-02-2007, 12:21 PM
You soft US types couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo.

ButcherOfNog
10-02-2007, 07:21 PM
Well my planes can't, but my Submarines, Destroyers and Cruisers are doing a tad better.

Its really not helping that the weather sucks and keeps grounding my air missions :)

TwoShedsJackson
10-03-2007, 07:23 PM
The weather is positively Irish alright.

ButcherOfNog
10-03-2007, 10:09 PM
Turn, nice to see my subs are still proving annoying to you, plus my highly trained GI's beat off those nasty troops of yours at Guadalcanal :)

American aircraft factories be working overtime after this scenario anyway.

ButcherOfNog

TwoShedsJackson
10-14-2007, 09:47 PM
A bit of fish-in-barrel shooting this turn :)

ButcherOfNog
10-14-2007, 11:01 PM
Yup, but I now have a powerful infantry force situated on Guadalcanal, time for the japs to feel american steel

TwoShedsJackson
10-16-2007, 08:01 PM
Getting it in just on the last turn I see :) i think i need to pm you my password so you can see the last combat phase, is that right?

ButcherOfNog
10-16-2007, 09:23 PM
Yup

"At the end of a PBEM game, the Jap player will need to send his password to the allied player so they can load the final save file, view the final execution phase and view the final victory score and end the game status"

I'd guess you won :)

ButcherOfNog

Marginal Japanese Victory

Good game, reasonably happy with that, bad weather and a terrible first strike from my carriers ruined the day for me, lost both my carriers to one of yours. On land I faired better, in particular at Guadalcanal. Lost alot of transport ships doing it though.

TwoShedsJackson
10-18-2007, 12:16 AM
The weather kept a lot of the air action out alright, and those US carriers are worth a lot of VPs. Mind you your aircraft were a tad lemming like, thats where I got a good section of points from :)
