Civilization 4 PBEM Game Support etc.

Now that the game has started and the turns should be starting to circulate I figured it might be an idea to supply a wee bit of info for those who might get stuck.

I’ve set the game up using email aliases civ4-pbem-1 thru civ4-pbem-7 accounts for darkkeep.org so we can hide our identities if we have well known email address, naturally you’ll need to reflect this email client when sending the mail, so it may be worth updating you client so u have an account with the altered email address as the return address.

The mails are chained as follows:
civ4-pbem-1 -> civ4-pbem-2 -> civ4-pbem-3 -> civ4-pbem-4 -> civ4-pbem-5 -> civ4-pbem-6 -> civ4-pbem-7 -> civ4-pbem-1

You can figure out where u are in the chain by looking at the to field in the mail you will recieve.

For those of you who wish to use the built in SMTP server you can enable it by entering your SMTP host name (pressing ctrl-d in the game will bring it up).

As for discussion I would suggest you register your leader name once you get it (it’s random) and use that on these forums.

Quick question, can we rename our Empires/Races/Leaders or are we keeping it 'Vanilla' this time around?

While I've every intention of leading my glorious Spanish Empire to Victory, I woudn't mind giving it a bit of 'rebranding' first... :D

I renamed on the first go, I assume you have a set time to change it.

It can be done through the options menu in game

For those of you who change your game name and wish to change the name here as well, rather than re-registering send me a PM and I'll do a name change.

We'll limit this to once per player both here and ingame so as to avoid confusion.

The victory options are available ingame, its along the menu with the advisors.
